FAV THING EVER， it was such a good book and I also loved the movie so so much。 I love the idea of the tournament and I loved the story of it。 I also loved it so much because of how much quidditch was in it and the big quidditch match was so cool。 It was a little slow at first and during different parts but overall the storyline was so good

A turning in the whole plot of harry potter。 First death and the first time harry was in real danger， I have to confess I completely forgot that harry was only 14 in this book。 Well， it is a great book and always will be！！

I need to confess。 There are 2 HP books I didn't read when I was younger- this is one of them。 Going through the series now to capture/recapture the magic。 And WOW！ I can't believe I missed out on this gem！ Also spoilers below。。。*****************************************************************Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire is a huge step from the first 3 installments。。。 and that's saying something。 I very much enjoyed reading this book。 I can see why most people rank this as their favorite b I need to confess。 There are 2 HP books I didn't read when I was younger- this is one of them。 Going through the series now to capture/recapture the magic。 And WOW！ I can't believe I missed out on this gem！ Also spoilers below。。。*****************************************************************Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire is a huge step from the first 3 installments。。。 and that's saying something。 I very much enjoyed reading this book。 I can see why most people rank this as their favorite book in the series。 Now， the movie wasn't terrible in the slightest bit （as true for most book-movie adaptations） it's hard to fully capture the inner dialogue， tension， emotions， and detail that the book so incredibly includes。There is a reason it's one of the most beloved book series *of all time*A Few Thoughts:1。 If Rowling wrote all the books the same， I don't think it would have experienced nearly as much and GoF may have been a tiring read2。 From the moment he becomes a relevant character to his untimely death， Cedric is much more interesting than in the book。 I didn't really care for him in PoA but in this book， I find myself relating to him at times。3。 There was a lot more in the books regarding the House Elves- so many more interesting side plots that aren't weighing down the story at large4。 Some "good" characters have some unlikeable moments （like Hagrid） The book shows him as a *real* human。**********************************************************************Like most fans， HP: GOF is "so far" my favorite book in the series 。。。more

Tournament will host 2 other schools， and the champion from each school will compete against the other champions for a prize money， and of course bragging rights。The Goblet of Fire will choose the champions from names dropped into it。 Only students 17 years and older can enter。 Harry is under the age of majority in the wizarding world， and barred from entering。 The Goblet of Fire picks Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons Academy， Viktor Krum from Durmstrag Institute and Cedric Diggory from Hogwarts。 Unexpectedly， it chooses Harry as a fourth champion。 Forcing him to compete。 Many students， including Ron， believe Harry cheated to enter solely because he wants more fame。 A rift between Harry and Ron develops。Harry meets up with Sirius at one point， he tells Harry that he is worried about him and that he believes that someone put his name in the Goblet of Fire to get Harry killed and make it look like an accident and apart of the tournament。 He also tells Harry that Karkaroff， the teacher that brought the kids from Durmstrang Institute， used to be a Death Eater， and a follower of Voldemort。 He was also in Azkaban with Sirius as well， but convinced them to let him go。Hagrid ends up reviling to Harry what the first task will entail。 It involves these large frightening dragons。 Harry tells Cedric about the dragons， at the same time Moody is there and takes him into his office。 Thinking he is in trouble， Harry pretends he doesn’t know what is going on， but Moody says that it is tradition to cheat。 He suggest to Harry to fly。 Harry then goes to Hermione for help him learn the Summoning Charm。 When the first task starts， they are told they have to collect a golden egg。 When it became Harrys turn he used the Summoning Charm to summon his Firebolt broomstick and fly past the dragon to grab the egg。 Inside the egg that the champions got there is a puzzle with a clue for the second task。 When Harry opens the golden egg， all it does is shrieks loudly。 Cedric gave Harry a tip， that he should take a really hot bath with the egg。 After contemplating the tip， Harry finally decides to try it and discovers he must recover something valuable from mermaids at the bottom of the lake in the castle grounds for the second task。Professor McGonagall announces the Yule ball。 It is open to 4th years and above， or someone under can be invited by a 4th year or higher。 Harry is expected to go and find a partner， it is traditional for the champions to open up the Yule ball。 Harry takes Parvati， Ron goes with Parvati’s sister， and Hermione goes with Viktor Krum， which annoys Ron。When the day of the second task comes， Harry did little to prepare for it， and has no idea who to survive underwater。 The morning of the second task， Dobby is there to wake up Harry， giving him Gillyweed to help him breath underwater， having heard it from Moody。 Harry finds Ron at the bottom of the lake。 However， he refuses to leave the other “hostages” behind。 Krum retrieves Hermione， but when Fleur fails to appear， Harry also takes her sister， Gabrielle。 Harry finishes last， but is awarded high marks for ‘moral fiber’。While taking near the Forbidden Forest， Harry and Krum encounter Crouch， who had stopped appearing at work。 Seeming insane， he claims to have done something terrible， and begs for Dumbledore。 Leaving Krum with Crouch， Harry fetches Dumbledore but returns to fund Krum stunned and Crouch gone。 Moody tries to find Crouch。 Harry later has a dream involving Voldemort punishing Wormtail for a mistake。 Harry goes to tell Dumbledore about it。 While waiting for Dumbledore， Harry stumbles upon a Pensieve （a device that holds memories） in Dumbledore’s office。 With it， he discovers that Crouch’s son， Barty Jr。 was a Death Eater and sentenced to Azkaban， where he supposedly died。Harry prepares for the final task， a hedge maze filled with dangerous obstacles， the goal being to be the first one to reach the Triwizard Cup。 Inside the maze， Harry and Cedric reach the cup at the same time， and decide to touch it at the same time。 However， it is a Portkey that transports them to a graveyard。 There， Wormtail appears， kills Cedric on Voldemort’s orders， and performs a ritual including Harry to restore Lord Voldemort to a body。Voldemort summons all his Death Eaters， berates them for believing him dead， and mentions that he has a servant at Hogwarts， who has led Harry there。 He tortures Harry， then challenges him to a duel。 However， when he and Harry fire spells at each other， their wands’ streams connect， as they share a core， causing echoes of Voldemort’s pervious spells to appear， including manifestations of Cedric and Harry’s parents。 These echoes help Harry escape with Cedric’s body to the Cup and return to Hogwarts。Once Harry returned to Hogwarts， Moody takes Harry to his office。 He reveals himself to be Voldemort’s servant。 He admits that he was the one that put Harry’s name in the Goblet of Fire under another schools name。 He also guided him through the whole tournament to ensure he would be the one to touch the cup。 As Moody prepares to kill Harry， Dumbledore， McGonagall， and Snape intervene and stun Moody。 Moody is revealed to be impersonated by Crouch Jr。， Crouch Sr。’s son who was presumed to be dead， via Polyjuice Potion （makes you take the body form of another person）。 Using Veritaserum （truth serum）， they learn that Crouch Sr。 had rescued his son from Azkaban for one final wish from his wife before she died。 They switched places。 Crouch Jr。 was kept at home until Winky conceived Crouch Sr。 to allow him to go to the Quidditch Cup， where he escaped， stole Harry’s wand， and conjured the Dark Mark in the sky。 Voldemort discovered Crouch Jr。 and plotted to install him at Hogwarts， abducting the real Moody’s body。 Crouch Sr。 was imprisoned by Wormtail， and when he escaped to Hogwarts to tell Dumbledore everything， Crouch Jr。 killed him。Dumbledore announces Voldemort’s return to Hogwarts。 However， many people， including Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge， refuse to believe it。 The dementors kiss is performed on Crouch Jr。， rendering him unable to testify for Voldemort’s return。 Dumbledore puts plans against Voldemort into place。 Not wanting his tournament winnings， he gives them to Fred and George to start a joke shop， and returns to the Dursleys for the summer。INFO:Dark Mark: The symbol of Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters and take the form of a skull with a snake coming out of the month in place of the tongue。 The mark is cast into the sky by Death Eaters whenever they have murdered I am not a big fan of this book。 Sure， I still like it！ But it just didn’t surprise me as much as the others。 Every book seems to have the same structure， which is okay， but this is the first book that kind of bothered me by doing it。I will now present the next book:- it is summer holiday， Harry is at privet drive， life sucks。 Kind of boring and we are introduced to all wizarding terms again， as if we did not read the previous books the night before。- yay we can get away from privet drive， but l I am not a big fan of this book。 Sure， I still like it！ But it just didn’t surprise me as much as the others。 Every book seems to have the same structure， which is okay， but this is the first book that kind of bothered me by doing it。I will now present the next book:- it is summer holiday， Harry is at privet drive， life sucks。 Kind of boring and we are introduced to all wizarding terms again， as if we did not read the previous books the night before。- yay we can get away from privet drive， but life is still boring。 School almost！- yay school。 Kind of boring but something happen！- Malfoy is a bitch。- something medium happens that drags the story on。- almost finished the book！ Now we almost die three times。- someone else dies。- we now need 50 pages to explain what has happened and how this can be linked to the 700 pages we have read before。- not privet drive again。See you next book I guess。（view spoiler）[And why did Cedric have to die？？ （hide spoiler）] 。。。more
